At REV Ocean, we are committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace where every individual is treated with respect, dignity, and fairness. Our policy reflects our unwavering dedication to promoting gender equality and diversity within all parts of our organisation. We recognise that diversity not only enhances our work environment but also drives innovation and excellence.

Principles

1.  Equal Opportunity: We provide equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants regardless of gender, race, religion, sexual orientation, disability, or any other characteristic protected by applicable laws.

2. Gender Balance: We are dedicated to achieving gender balance at all levels of our organisation, from the leadership team to entry-level positions. We actively seek to eliminate gender-based discrimination and bias. As per 1.9.2023 REV Ocean has 7 (43 %) female and 9 (56 %) male employees. Female employees include positions at high responsibility levels, such as the CEO and one of the two vessel captains.

3. Pay Equity: We ensure that all employees are paid equitably for the same work or work of equal value, regardless of gender. We regularly review and adjust our compensation structures to maintain pay equity.

4. Inclusive Work Environment: We promote an inclusive work environment where all employees feel valued and can contribute their best. This includes providing accommodations for individuals with disabilities and creating a culture of respect and acceptance. REV Ocean will continue to strengthen the organisation’s culture through transparency, communication, inclusivity and involvement.

5. Training and Development: We invest in training and development programs that empower employees to reach their full potential, regardless of their gender. We encourage career advancement opportunities for all.

6. Work-Life Balance: We support work-life balance through flexible work arrangements and family-friendly policies that enable employees to meet their personal and professional commitments.

7. Zero Tolerance for Harassment: We have a zero-tolerance policy for any form of harassment, including sexual harassment, gender expression, disabilities, race, and religious beliefs. We provide channels for reporting incidents and ensure confidentiality and swift action in response.

8. Supplier Diversity: We actively seek diverse suppliers and contractors to promote economic inclusion and support businesses owned by underrepresented groups. We will work with and support organisations that improve gender equality in relevant ocean spaces where there has been a strong historical male bias. As such, REV Ocean is a signatory to the first Annual Report of She of the Sea.

9. Community Engagement: We extend our commitment to gender equality and diversity to the communities we operate in, participating in initiatives and programs that promote these principles. We will support capacity development, including improved access to data and technology, increased ocean literacy and the creation of an enabling environment that ensures broad inclusivity, including gender, generational and geographic diversity.

10. Accountability and Measurement: We regularly assess our progress toward achieving gender equality and diversity goals. We hold leaders and employees accountable for upholding these principles.

REV Ocean’s gender and equality policy is not just a commitment; it is a blueprint for creating a workplace that celebrates differences, promotes equal opportunities, and contributes to a more equitable world. We believe that by embracing diversity, we will continue to make a positive impact on our mission to protect and preserve our ocean for future generations. One Healthy Ocean can never be achieved if half (or more) of the world’s population is excluded from the table
