The Technical Coordinator will work closely with the Operations Coordinator and the Director of Operations to successfully operate the Research Expedition Vessel for REV Ocean. The vessel has a multitude of systems to support science, expeditions and charter such as helicopters, manned submersibles, ROVs, scientific sampling systems, laboratories, diving facilities etc. and the key responsibility for the Technical Coordinator would be the technical oversight of all this.
In addition, the Technical Coordinator is expected to be responsible for the following tasks:
- Support the building team up until delivery and ensure a smooth transition from building and testing to operational status.
- Contribute to technical documentation, procurement and inventory management related to mission-critical equipment.
- Collaborate with research, charter, and operational teams to ensure smooth execution of technical aspects of operations.
- Lead or support integration of new technologies related to marine operations and research.
- Provide technical input to R&D and innovation projects involving the vessel and associated equipment.
- Support the Director of Operations as a technical advisor.
- Assist in developing the Company’s operating policies and procedures
- Purchasing of equipment.
- Document control
- Claims handling
- Be the point of contact towards the appointed Technical Management Company.
- Be available for travel and onboard presence in support of operations as necessary.
Competency requirements
- Previous maritime experience as Engineer, Chief Engineer or Technical Superintendent or similar relevant technical experience.
- Must be familiar with Safety Management Systems based on ISM code and mandatory rules and regulations iaw. IMO/SOLAS.
- Solid experience with TM Master Planned Maintenance System is highly desirable
- Fluency in English

Workplace: REV Ocean headquarters at Aker Tech House, Fornebu. Work- and residence permit needed. Travelling will be required.
